Project background
The retailer is undertaking a transformation of its IS and aims to move towards a business-oriented model, designed to facilitate business transformation towards digital and the development of new distribution channels. The first step in this program is to ensure the reliability and control of item data, and to build a referencing solution. In order to understand how to build the solution and find publishers, a consultation was necessary, by means of a call for tenders.
Our approach
In order to identify and structure the requirements and plan the design of the solution, our intervention consisted of :
- Conduct user workshops to define current irritants, gather needs and understand how article data is used in employees' daily lives.
- Draw up specifications (business and technical).
- Raise employee awareness of the importance of SEO governance, to ensure better control of the data value chain.
Our results
In addition to drawing up specifications presenting an exhaustive vision of the needs to be covered and the business processes to be equipped or developed, our intervention enabled us to structure discussions on the transformation of our businesses, in the light of a two-fold problem:
- Human, with the question of generational renewal, which will require better management of activities.
- Technical, with the notion of data governance, which requires better control and support for the supplier ecosystem.
