Manage the impact of implementing a Single Repository on legacy IS applications

Sector of activity

Large independent food retailer

Project background

The aim of the "Repository Program" is to establish a single, shared repository to meet the needs of all Group entities (purchasing centers, stores, central tools, etc.). The implementation of this repository should significantly improve data quality and streamline business processes (and tools).

The scope of the repository: Suppliers, Products, Tariffs, Sales outlets, Coding and Contractualization.

The objective: to analyze the impact of the implementation of these 6 repositories on the Offer/Finance and Quality business applications (17 business applications).

Our approach

A methodology for industrializing the impact study on the 17 applications and 6 repositories, presented to the various project players.

A 2-phase methodology:

  • Completeness study and detection of related projects (e.g. structuring functional evolutions or data modeling very different from the existing)
  • Impact and de-commissioning studies, and drafting of functional specifications

Steering the various stakeholders:

  • Production application managers
  • Project managers dedicated to the repository program
  • External partners

Our results

  • Framing of the project with implementation of the impact study methodology and organization of steering with all stakeholders.
  • Ongoing project management
