Improved traceability of direct delivery flows
Sector of activity
Multi-channel distribution player BtoB in Europe
Project background
Against a backdrop of product range expansion and volume growth, the company is increasingly involved in direct deliveries (customer deliveries direct from the supplier). On the other hand, control of transport for these flows is still mostly the responsibility of the supplier. It is therefore necessary for the company to regain control of these flows, at least by monitoring these direct deliveries.
To achieve this, the company called on Univers Retail to help it improve the tracking of direct deliveries.
Our approach
- Analysis of delivery flows - Qualification of delivery tracking information, measurement of volumes, identification of shipment profiles.
- Qualification of areas for improvement - Description, impact measurements, definition of schedule.
- Analysis of URL link structure for tracking deliveries by carrier.
- Implementation of solutions by supplier and carrier.
- Support in resuming transport (from DDP to EXW).
Our results
- 20% increase in traced transport flows.
- Creation of a guide for building traceability URLs by carrier.
- Creation of a tool to evaluate flows eligible for transport recovery (change of incoterms, from DDP to EXW).
