Support for the non-food division in setting up sales tablets

Sector of activity

Leader French supermarket chain

Project background

The brand is keen to emphasize multi-channelling and the digitalization of the point of sale. In this context, the non-food business is carrying out a project to equip sales staff with tablets to facilitate access to information (stocks, assortments, promotions, etc.), improve the sales experience and reinforce the image of the connected salesperson.

However, the company's sales staff do not have the tools they need to offer customers the full EPCS range. What's more, they are unable to quickly access essential information during the sales ritual. By equipping its sales staff with tablets, the company hopes to address a number of issues:

  • Make available an extended offer not physically held by the store.
  • Increase EPCS sales, facilitated by the move upmarket and the rise in the average basket.
  • Enhance the customer experience by providing practical, differentiating services.
  • Be able to take an order from the tablet and transmit it to a back office.

Our approach

The aim of this coaching is to support the project manager throughout the functional scope, and to meet the defined milestones:

  • Ensure the quality of incoming data from the tablet and ensure that flows evolve.
  • Gather Front/Back requirements and enable orders to be taken from the tablet with the Carrefour, Rue Du Commerce and Suppliers assortments.
  • Ensure an MVP capable of supporting national deployment.

Our results

During Univers Retail's intervention, several sites were delivered:

  • Production pilot for 4 stores (38 salespeople).
  • Deployment validated by governance bodies.
  • Framing of the "Order taking" package.
