Univers Retail has chosen to partner an innovative program, the "Grande Cause des Territoires" initiated by Make.org.
Since 2016, Make. org's mission has been to engage citizens in the positive transformation of society.
Make.org is a citizen platform leader of European Civic Tech, whose mission is to engage citizens in the positive transformation of society. To this end, Make.org has developed a digital consultation solution, capable of massively involving citizens around a simple question of general interest, and extracting popular consensus. As expressed in its Ethical Charter, Make.org is a democratic, civic and European platform, neutral, independent, transparent and respectful of personal data.
Why this great cause?
The territories represent a major democratic challenge, and for many years now the French have seen them as a priority.
Access to transport, higher education, healthcare, shops and jobs are all factors that amplify the divide between metropolises and rural areas, suburbs and city centers, and influence the individual opportunities of French people living in these areas.
The aim of this Great Cause is to bring together all the players in the field and institutions to :
- involve citizens by making the subject a priority for society,
- design and carry out unprecedented civil actions across France.
This Great Cause will be launched on February 01, 2021 with institutions such as the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion and Relations with Local Authorities; ANCT, Banque des Territoires; elected representatives with AMF, ADF; citizens, companies such as Système U and Univers Retail, but also numerous associations and media such as TF1, LCI, Sud-Ouest, Le Télégramme and Nice Matin.

We look forward to seeing you on territoire.make.org from February 01 to 28 March to answer the question "How can we improve living conditions in your area? And vote for other citizens' proposals.
Make.org will then invite the citizens who took part in the consultation and all its partners (associations, elected representatives, companies, institutions, experts, media...) to two days of workshops for reflection and co-construction to transform the priority ideas emerging from the consultation into concrete courses of action. Until November 2021, these ideas will be qualified and enriched to produce a national plan of 5 to 10 actions. They will then be incubated, developed, financed, tested in the field and rolled out nationwide.
